NT pushes for crocodile safari hunts ABC Online
Saltwater crocs larger than 3.5 metres would be allowed to be shot under the new draft management plan. The Territory Government wants to trial safari hunting during the five-year lifespan of its new plan. [More Info]

Jabiru Tennis Season gets off to a great start!
Kids & Adults Tennis on Wednesday kicked off with over 25 kids attending, from beginners to experienced they were all keen to learn the finer points of Tennis.
Please note next Wednesday 4.30pm for beginners and 5pm for the experienced kids. 6pm for adults, All Welcome.
Thanks to Steve for organising and training the kids, the Jabiru Sports & Social Club for the BBQ and venue and the Darwin Tennis Ass. for new Tennis rackets and balls.

Agreement reached on Kimberley gas hub ABC News
Traditional owners in WA's Kimberley have agreed to allow the construction of a gas processing hub, near Broome. The WA Premier Colin Barnett says the Kimberley Land Council has overwhelmingly backed a deal which will result in traditional owners receiving more than $1-billion in compensation over thirty years. Warming to blame for ice shelf collapse ABC News
The Wilkins Ice Shelf is in the final stages of collapse and scientists are concerned the event shows climate change is happening faster than previously thought. From above, parts of the Ice Shelf now look like giant panes of shattered glass. [More Info]

Sunday April 19 AUSTSWIM Training Assessment Participants are required for AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety and AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant & Toddler Familiarsation.
Time: 5 year olds: 3pm -3.45pm.
Toddlers: 24 -36 months 4.15pm-5pm.
NB: All toddlers MUST be accompanied by a participating adult. Bookings are essential, limited numbers, please call Liz Martin @ Jabiru Pool 8979 2127 to reserve a place for your child.
Please note: All children will be videotaped during the lesson. Footage will be sent to the AUSTSWIM head office in Melbourne for assessment purposes only.

3.30pm at Brockman Oval but please note this year we will be using the other side of the oval near the toilets and kiosk. There will be a free sign on BBQ on the 21st at 5pm sponsored by the Kakadu Culture Camp. The involvement of parents in this program is very much encouraged so please come along and take part.
